I previously left a review of 5 stars, was trying to go back and find it so I could update it but I might as well leave a new one.

Our experience with Chris, our sales rep was overwhelmingly positive. Chris is a nice guy and you get the feeling he's really doing what he can to help you.

That being said, there are some serious holes the sales manager needs to plug in their process. We walked in with guaranteed financing at 4%. We were convinced to finance through Ron Lewis and were assured since we had fantastic credit they could at least meet the other offer and still get us where we needed to be monthly (we have 2 small children so don't have a lot of room for a massive loan payment). Good news! Chris says, we got you where you need to be monthly ($4200 as a down payment later, of course) sign all the paperwork, the finance guy went so quick I had to go back and look through to find the warranty information because literally he just flashed papers in front of us and said sign here, here and here.

I'm adult enough to know we should have slowed him down, made him go through line by line and explain what was on everything. Imagine my surprise, though, when the paperwork for the first monthly installment comes and the interest rate is 6.79 PERCENT! I've since spoken with 2 other financers, who say the rates for a 2015 vehicle (which is what we bought) are about 4.64 - 4.99%. How in the world they didn't think to at least tell us the best interest rate they could get was almost 2% points higher than anywhere else, I have no idea. Especially when we told them UP FRONT that we could get much lower on our own.

I reached out to Chris, expressed my disappointment, and was told I'm free to refinance with someone else to get a better rate. It made me feel as if, now that the sale was closed, they don't have to take responsibility for pulling the wool over a customer's eyes. I have a call into the sales manager, because I find it ridiculous that their individual sales reps don't get told the details of a loan to provide to the customer before they go back to sign a bunch of paperwork, which is what Chris told me.

I suppose the lesson learned here is "buyer beware". Don't get fooled into a sense of complacency and blindly trust that a dealership will warn you ahead of time if they think they won't get the financing from you. If you have to take the extra hour, make them go line by line on every piece of paper you sign. Even if you have small children that need to meet their bedtime.
